The note says in Swedish:
"Skogsälvfa funnen av Erik Nilsson i Skottvångs Gruvfa maj 1921. Den lilla varelsen måhända hava drunknat i gruvfans vattenhål och sålunda börjat ruttna".
 
Translated to English:
" Fairy found by Erik Nilsson in Skottvångs Grufva May 1921. The little creature may have drowned in the mine's waterhole and thus began to rot".
